Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin-resurfacing procedure that exfoliates and removes the superficial layer of dry, dead skin cells to reveal healthier, younger-looking skin beneath. The procedure can reduce the appearance of fine lines, sun damage, acne scars, melasma, and other forms of hyperpigmentation.
The Procedure
Microdermabrasion can be performed fairly quickly and uses micro-fine crystals or a diamond tip wand to buff and polish the skin, stimulating the growth of new collagen and evening out the skin tone. A light suction mechanism removes the exfoliated skin.
One of the key benefits of microdermabrasion is that there is no downtime or recovery period following the procedure. Your provider may recommend a special moisturizer or facial product to enhance and prolong the results.
